In August of 2015 Driftwood Oven baked it's first pizza for the public at The Brew Gentlemen Brewery in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Since then, we have traveled all over the Pittsburgh region baking countless wood-fired, naturally leavened pizza for this wonderful community.
The duo met while working at Legume Bistro in Oakland. During that time, Neil feel in love with baking and spent many hours teaching himself everything he could about naturally sourdough baking. He believes baking to be a lifelong pursuit and strives to learn something new every day.
While Neil focused on baking, Justin embraced the world of hospitality. After spending years serving and bar tending, Justin has learned a great deal from those around him. He prides himself on being able to create an atmosphere of joy where everyone feels as though they belong.
By December 2017, Driftwood Oven was able to take the next step. Thanks to the support of many loyal followers, Kickstarter funds propelled them forward into their own brick and mortar. Every day, their mission continues to be the same: providing to communities through inclusivity, working together, and never letting good pizza down for years to come.
